ACHIEVEMENT DATA |
 |
Our data, our precedents and our philosophy substantiate our claim that we can lift the math scores in any school system from among the worst to among the first in two to three years. Allow us to state, in no uncertain terms, that we will deliver the highest levels of performance on the “do-or-die” exams without focusing on the tests themselves

Elizabeth Redd Elementary School
Richmond Public Schools System
Richmond, VA
The Elizabeth Redd Elementary School began an implementation of the Professor B Math Program in March 2002.
After only three months of Professor B implementation (staff development supplemented by classroom demonstrations and materials), their fifth grade Accreditation Rating rose from 41.3 to 86.2.
Please note that in the State of Virginia, the Accreditation Rating for a particular school year is the percent of students passing the SOL test in June of the previous year. Hence, the 2002-2003 Accreditation Rating for the fifth grade in Elizabeth Redd Elementary School is the percent of students who passed the SOL test in June of 2001-2002.

Cedarhome Elementary School
Stanwood-Camano School District, WA The
WASL is a criterion-referenced test specifically aligned to Washington
State standards. It measures the application of basic skills necessary
to be a successful student but it uses a variety of question formats,
including multiple choice, short answer and extended response questions,
to assess student knowledge.
The Professor B Math Program (staff development
supplemented by classroom demonstrations and materials) was first
implemented in the Cedarhome Elementary School of the Stanwood-Camano
School District, Washington, during the 1997-1998 school year and
continues to be implemented during 2002-2003. The level of performance
on the WASL has grown from 19.8 percent of students meeting the standard
in 1997-1998 to 66.3 percent in 2001-2002.

Church Creek Elementary School
Stanwood-Camano School District, WA
The Professor B Math Program (staff development supplemented by classroom demonstrations and materials) was first implemented in the Church Creek Elementary School of the Stanwood-Camano School District, Washington, during the 1997-1998 school year. In the 1997-1998 school year they measured their math achievement by means of the California Test of Basic Skills (CTBS). In subsequent years, they used the Iowa Test of Basic Skills (ITBS). Consequently, ITBS baseline data are not available in order to show the effect of Professor B implementation from the beginning. However, we do know that prior to the Professor B intervention, the CTBS baseline was approximately 50th percentile for the third grade.
The mean national percentile rank for the third grade on the ITBS during the second year of Professor B staff development was 69 and in the third year, it rose to 80.
There are only two years of Professor B related scores because Church Creek Elementary was transformed to a middle school after the 1999-2000 school year.
